HIL Project Leader

Job Description

You will lead HIL rig projects from intake to handover for the automotive OEM client's software test organisation. You own scope, cost, schedule, and stakeholder communication for several rig tickets in parallel, partnering with a HIL Engineer and electricians who build the rigs.

Requirements

Must have

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in engineering, ideally electrical, mechatronics or automotive
  • 3+ years leading technical projects with hardware deliveries
  • Budget and cost-estimation ownership; tracking actuals against plan
  • Working knowledge of HIL or vehicle test environments, enough to challenge estimates
  • Stakeholder management across engineering, purchasing and finance
  • Confident use of Jira-style ticketing, Confluence and SharePoint
  • Professional English, written and spoken

Nice to have

  • Experience in an automotive OEM or tier-1 test organisation
  • Procurement and long-lead material planning
  • PMP, PRINCE2 or IPMA certification
  • Agile delivery experience
  • Swedish language proficiency

Job Responsibilities

  • Run incoming rig requests through the client's intake and prioritisation process, and keep tickets up to date.
  • Prepare and present new rigs at technical screening sessions with the technical leads.
  • Build cost estimates together with the HIL Engineer and secure finance approval.
  • Plan and track each project: schedule, budget, material lead times, build slots, and dependencies.
  • Act as single point of contact for the requesting teams; manage expectations and escalate early.
  • Drive the project to the Technical Overview Test and a documented handover.
  • Feed delivery status, hours, and risks into the supplier's monthly governance meeting.
  • Raise change requests when scope, timing, or cost moves, with a transparent cost impact.
