About the Opportunity

We have a unique opportunity for an experienced Field Service Technician / Mechanic to work in a Resident role based in the West Gippsland and Latrobe Valley region. This is a newly created position due to increased demand and an ever-expanding customer base in the region.

A position in which you can work autonomously and make it your own but with the full support of our Melbourne branch and our wider company branch network.

We welcome applications from established Mechanics who have had field experience within the heavy machinery industry; prior experience with Hitachi equipment will be highly regarded but not essential.

About the Role

• Provide quality customer outcomes through diagnostic, maintenance, and repairs to a wide range of Construction and Mining equipment products.
• Conduct all repairs and maintenance jobs in accordance with manufacturer specifications
• Completion and submission of all relevant paperwork
• Manage consignment stock allocated to the region for parts and service support.
• Ensure compliance with company's Environmental Policy, quality standards, and Workplace Health and Safety requirements.
• Build and maintain excellent rapport with our customer base in the region.

About You

• Certificates of Trade - diesel mechanic, heavy vehicle, plant mechanic
• Proven mechanical work experience
• Understanding and delivering quality outcomes to ensure Total Customer Satisfaction
• Safety Commitment - Proactive awareness and total commitment to Hitachi's number one priority - always exercising a high standard of precaution and duty of care to yourself and for others around you
