Hitachi Europe GmbH is the international procurement office of Hitachi Ltd, Japan. Currently Hitachi Ltd is undergoing a huge transformation aiming to leverage scope and scale of its business groups. We are looking for an inspired talent to support and drive this transformation.
The a.m. position is located in Düsseldorf. The job holder will be involved in the procurement activity of various indirect categories such as, but not limited to, Airlines, Courier Service, MRO, mobile phone contracts, laptops, etc. for Hitachi Europe GmbH as well as our Shared Service Customers / affiliated companies in Europe
Successful candidate will be deeply involved in handling various indirect categories as well as managing our European users. Main responsibilities are:
Accountability for the entirety of ALL Indirect categories spend. Taking the lead in planning strategies of each category, establish sourcing policies, evaluation criteria and negotiation policy, sourcing the best quality suppliers, negotiating the best contracts and competently managing the supplier relationship and any associated risks for the whole contract lifecycle in accordance with Hitachi ‘s global policy.
Drive value, achieve cost savings and implement joint process improvement initiatives for assigned categories.
Centralize Suppliers for Indirect Materials for Hitachi Group Companies in Europe under one contract (Regional or global) by requesting spend data/Regional/Global Contract from group categories and increase adoption ratio.
Perform GAP analysis for each categories and promote use of Centralized contract to other Hitachi Group companies. Create, own and implement category strategies.
Lead RFI/RFP’s via our E-Procurement system, attaining added value and cost reductions.
Lead and implement Procurement Portals/Hotel Portal and other Procurement centralized portal for Europe and promote usage.
Review policies and processes to be aligned with our Headquarter policies in Japan.
Collaborate with HQ (Japan) and other IPOs in other regions across the world as necessary.
Responsible for the in-direct purchasing activities budget and reporting achievement to HQ
Recent and successful track record of managing in-direct materials procurement activities
Strong understanding of the philosophy and practices of in-direct procurement management
Cost and contract negotiation skills
Up to date knowledge of procurement related laws and regulations.
Leadership skills, having a key interest in developing team members within the specialist team
Strong numerical skills with the ability to analyze and interpret costs and budgets
Customer Focus and Analytical Thinking
Excellent communication skills and the strong ability to work across cultures and countries
Proficient skills in Business English (writing, reading and speaking)
Good PC skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point)
Willingness to travel domestic and overseas up to 20%
Ability to work under pressure in a matrix organization
