Description
The corporate accountant will play an integral part of the accounting operations of the company. They will support the five primary areas of (a) corporate consolidations & financial reporting assistance (b) intercompany lead and support (c) assist with treasury functions (d) external, internal (HE Parts, HCM, Hitachi) audit support (e) support external tax consultants with company financial data required for returns & provisioning.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safety – conduct all activities in a safe manner, utilizing PPE and adhering to company policy and alerting others regarding potential concerns. Safety is # 1
Management
Partner with ATL Corporate management team to help drive the business forward Adhere & drive global system of accounting policies. Interact with Controller of Financial Reporting and Shared Services, and CFO on a regular basis.
Transactions
Significant role in financial consolidations process
Primary driver of intercompany reconciliations and eliminations
Cash Flow statement preparation Perform month-end and year-end closing process for consolidations
Automate manual processes Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
Implement and monitor system of controls over accounting transactions
Prepare and review monthly reconciliations of significant general ledger accounts
Perform accrual calculations Support maintenance of the chart of accounts
Assist with company-wide financial reporting to parent company HCM Deliver audit deliverables in a timely, efficient and accurate manner
Deliver data deliverables to tax consulting firm.
Support treasury functions like wire creation, bank transfers, etc.
Cross train and support all Corporate Atlanta processes
Maintain currencies in ERP systems and perform currency analysis as needed.
Support forecast processes and functions as needed.
Reporting
Deliver elements of the Corporate Atlanta close.
Deliver elements of Executive Reporting package Intercompany Reconciliation and Reporting Deliver elements of the Consolidated Financials reporting Package.
Provide financial analyses, as needed
Compliance
Assist with the provision of information to external and internal auditors
Assist with the provision of information to external tax consultants.
Comply with local, Provincial, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Other
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies
Perform other duties, as assigned
INTERNAL/EXTERNAL CONTACTS:
Position requires collaboration with department managers, colleagues in other divisions, and current/potential customers.
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Four year accounting degree is required
One to two years accounting experience is expected
Ability to adjust to different circumstances and cope with job related pressures/stress
Intermediate to advanced applications software expertise (Microsoft Office and accounting software)
Experience with COGNOS is a plus
One or more years corporate consolidations experience is a plus
Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
Strong technical accounting skills in IFRS is a plus
