What You Will Bring To The Team

Primary Skills:
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with Hitachi NAS & SAN. (Content Platform ("HCP") is an added advantage):
  • Extensive knowledge and working experience on the Hitachi NAS Storage arrays
  • In depth knowledge of Hitachi NAS Storage administration via command line and HNAS SMU
  • Experience in deploying HNAS storage arrays, migration, replication, and tech refresh.
  • Hands on Experience in configuring NFS, CIFS shares, EVS management, Network interfaces in HNAS, broadcast domains, HNAS vlans and File system management
  • Hands on Experience in HNAS disaster recovery tests, failover/failback activities
  • Hands on Experience in configuring object based replication in HNAS
  • Experience of working on HNAS snapshots, performance management and troubleshooting HNAS issues
  • Experience and working knowledge of Hitachi Data Migrator to Cloud is an added advantage.
  • Hands on working experience in Hitachi Block storage and Brocade SAN switches.
  • Hands on working experience in managing RAID Groups, Storage pools and Storage tiering.
  • Knowledge on SAN fabric, Virtual Fabric (VSAN), FCIP & host to SAN connectivity.
  • Experience in coordination, validation, and planning for required firmware/patches/microcode upgrade activities
  • Ownership of Infrastructure and responsible for service uptime / availability
  • Maintain / Follow SOPs and Operational Run books, ITIL processes - Incident management, Problem management, Change management, Performance management, Capacity management, Configuration & availability management activities.
  • Participate in Change & release management
  • Participate in Disaster Recovery exercises w.r.t. HNAS, vSAN, and NetApp CDOT Storage arrays.

Knowledge and hands-on experience with NetApp Storage would also be an added advantage:
  • 10+ years hands on working experience on NetApp CDOT.
  • In-depth knowledge on the NetApp C Mode
  • In-depth knowledge of NetApp Active IQ Manager, OCUM, On Command System manager and CLI commands
  • In-depth knowledge on Configuring and Managing SVM/Volume based replication, cluster configuration, Setting up LIFs, cluster interconnect etc. as per Industry Best practices.
  • Hands on knowledge of Storage Efficiency implementation, Storage QOS, Performance Analysis, Troubleshooting and Problem Determination using NetApp tools
  • Experience in verification/validation and planning for required patches / microcode upgrade.
  • Hands on experience in configuring and managing NetApp Cluster Aggregates, Volumes, Qtrees, Snapshots, SVMs.
  • Hands on experience in configuring and managing SMB/CIFS shares, NFS exports and dual protocol shares.
  • Hands on experience in Migrating Data from any storage Array to NetApp C Mode Storage Array
  • Knowledge of Array virtualization and allocating block storage to NetApp CDOT filer
  • Knowledge of working on mounting shares on Unix Windows based systems and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge on configuring SAN Switches, adding new switch to an existing fabric (ISL - ICL), Merging switch fabrics, Trunking

What You Will Be Doing

Overall Storage Administrator & Resident Specialist Job Responsibilities: The Storage Resident Specialist is responsible for delivering technical services for the above processes and will work with various organizations within and external to HDS in delivering services to the customer.

The purpose of the role is to deliver services to the customer in line with defined Service Level Agreements and support the growth of the overall managed services footprint within the region.

This role will also act as a key point of contact for technical change and incident management and as such will require a depth of technical knowledge encompassing, but not limited to:
  • Build and maintain key customer technical operations relationships to facilitate the delivery of services.
  • Input to development of process and procedures to facilitate the support of the customer.
  • Input to the Service Transition process including the Planning, Change, Configuration, Release, Testing and Evaluation functions
  • Technical input to the Service Operation process including Event, Incident, Request and Problem management functions.
  • Technical input to the Continual Service Improvement process including operations Measurement and Reporting.
  • Work closely with HV Service Delivery Manager, Account Team, other departments (i.e., Finance/Business Ops) and Customer to ensure effective delivery & implementation of storage infrastructure, software, and services
  • Work closely with HV Service Delivery Manager, Account Team, other departments (i.e., Finance/Business Ops) and Customer to ensure accurate and effective delivery of all contracted SLA's
  • Act as the Technical contact and escalation point in relation to delivery of all HV Services at Customer site(s)
  • Review operational data and compare it to design assumptions and make recommendations wherever appropriate.
  • Able to communicate with customers and HV internal teams for technical service engagement and able to influence customer on HV solutions and design
  • Maintain technical documentation for the accounts
  • Participate on the customers Change Control Board as an expert storage advisor, including presentation and meeting with customer senior management.
  • Experience in working with multiple vendors to resolve complex technical problems
  • Ability to perform Root Cause Analysis on storage issues.
  • Able to assist Team Members, Mentor BAU support teams and Perform as an Individual Contributor.
  • Ability to understand Business requirements - translate them into technology solutions, Implement Best Practices.
  • Ability to deal with escalated and high severity incidents and work with various platform teams
  • Good analytical and Problem solving skills (the ability to think logically through a problem)
  • Must have the initiative, tenacity, and commitment to see problems through to resolution
  • Commitment and vision towards Automation drive
  • Able to respond to and resolve client queries and requests in a timely manner
  • Able to assist Team Members, Mentor BAU support teams and Perform as an Individual Contributor.
  • Understanding Project Management concepts and exposure to drive and deliver successful Project implementation
  • Participate in projects independently and deliver on time
