What you’ll be doing

The Benefits & Retirement Administration Manager is responsible for leading and managing a team that enables regional benefits and retirement operations. They work closely with their team to execute on the benefits and rewards strategies set by the Total Rewards COE and the Business. The Manager oversees the promotion, facilitation, and administrative management of benefits and retirement for employees in close partnership with Hitachi’s benefit and retirement partners. They also collaborate with the Total Rewards COE to ensure that policies are documented and updated, and to resolve any escalated inquiries.

This role will be a mixture of remote working and based from Hitachi’s office in Bangalore.

What you bring to the team

We’re looking for a team player, who is motivated by delivering great work and the Hitachi vision. Some of the skills and experience we look for includes:

  • Lead transition of GBS Global Benefits & Retirement programs to ensure a smooth implementation in all regions as well as actively participate in continues improvement processes.

  • Leads and provides guidance to the Benefits & Retirement Administration team

  • Monitors service delivery trends and SLA completion rates, suggesting execution improvements and changes as necessary

  • Supports the implementation of a regional Benefits and Retirement strategy, working with the Total Rewards COE and BU HR

  • Collaborates with the Total Rewards COE to identify any changes and update policies, guidelines and support materials 

  • Works with third-party partners, providing benefits and retirement services to employees/retirees, and manages open enrollment processes

  • Manages day to day relationships with benefit and retirement partners and helps facilitate the resolution of support and service issues 

  • Delivers strategic benefits and retirement plan communications, partnering with regional and local partners as applicable

  • Validates employee inputs and choices based on eligibility guidelines and verifies employee choices are correctly updated in proper systems  

  • Partners with Payroll and third-party partners to collect reports and data (e.g., review membership lists and/or invoices for accuracy and advise insurers/vendors of additions or removals) 

  • Collects audit data with the third parties and manages compliance risks 

  • Acts as a point of escalation for benefits and retirement inquiries, escalating to Total Rewards COE as needed

Preferences:

  • At least 5 years in position

  • Good understanding of Benefits & Retirement programs in US (e.g., 401K….) and EU

  • SSC working experience
