NOTICE:  Hitachi High-Tech America, Inc. This position is responsible for new business development in the fields of social and industrial infrastructure market, as well as managing existing accounts. Needs to identify customer needs from customer/market driven perspective with market knowledge and propose new business models or appropriate solutions.


  • New business development in mobility and industrial sectors (40%)
    • Create new business plan, execute and modify, along with customer/market feedback
    • Product planning/development and market/industry positioning
    • Individual creativity and initiative (new accounts/products)
    • New projects with existing customers
  • Account management of existing customer accounts (20%)
    • Analyze customer forecast and prepare annual budget and monthly sales forecast
    • Conduct regular customer visits
    • Manage customer and vendor relations and daily communication follow-up
    • Manage pricing, quotes, and RFQ
    • Support Sales Administration Dept. on customer or vendor related issues
  • Collaborate on projects and assignments with overseas locations in their local time zone (20%)
  • Work with internal administration departments (15%)
    • Work with Risk Management Department to process new customer or vendor credit applications
    • Work with Legal Department to approve non-disclosure agreements (NDA), agreements, and or contracts
    • Work with Trade Compliance Department on trade related requirements
  • Prepare weekly activity reports and monthly summaries (5%)


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related area or equivalent required.


  • 5+ years of sales or project management experience, ideally in the fields of mobility, Li-ion battery, or engineering
  • Past proven new business creation
  • International business experience


·       Computer Skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)

Certificates & Licenses: Class D Drivers’ license
  • Excellent detailed and aesthetically organized presentation creation skills
  • Smooth and timely communication skills
  • General marketing knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of systems engineering
  • Ability to properly present new ideas and communicate effectively to an executive level audience
  • Language: Japanese bilingual required
  • Other Requirements: 
    • U.S. work authorization required
    • Domestic and international travel up to 50% of time
