Summary

Hitachi America, Ltd. is looking for a Global Ethics and Compliance Communications Specialist to join the Global Ethics and Compliance team. The Global Compliance Office oversees Hitachi’s Global Ethics and Compliance Program. This oversight includes maintaining the Hitachi Group Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, developing and managing global ethics and compliance policies and protocols, managing the Hitachi Global Compliance Hotline, conducting audits and investigations and communicating and promoting the program and training. The team also counsels business units and group companies to develop and implement the Global Ethics and Compliance Program.

The Global Ethics and Compliance Communications Specialist plans, develops, implements and evaluates global ethics and compliance communications and awareness campaigns to inform, engage, and inspire employees through clear and compelling communication and creative engagement strategies to drive a culture of integrity and mitigate compliance risks.

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the Director, Global Compliance Communications and Promotion implements the global ethics and compliance communications strategy.
  • Writes and edits communications and promotion materials, including talking points, articles, presentations and events to raise employee awareness of business ethics and the competitive advantage associated with building relationships with customers and stakeholders based on honesty and integrity.
  • Works with cross-functional teams to build and maintain effective and innovative ethics and integrity awareness campaigns to drive and enhance a culture of integrity and mitigate compliance risks.
  • Creates and maintains social media calendar for the Global Ethics and Compliance Program to promote Hitachi’s commitment to the highest ethical culture and standards of behavior to attract top talent and build trust among shareholders and stakeholders.
  • Maintains consistent standards, language and approach for content design, development and delivery.
  • Uses analytics to measure the effectiveness of communications and training and overall ethics and compliance program.
  • Keeps abreast of training and communications best practices to explore alternative methods and mediums for providing effective communications and training to online and offline users.
  • Partners with Brand and Communications teams to align with brand standards as well as drive ethics and integrity awareness messaging.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field. Advanced degree a plus.
  • Five years of relevant work experience in ethics and compliance or legal.
  • Strong project management and change management skills are required. Smartsheet experience is a plus.
  • Capable of flexible and agile problem-solving and critical thinking to solve problems and implement solutions.
  • Possess strong content writing ability, creativity, attention to detail and excellent proofing and editing skills.
  • Clear and concise oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate complex technical concepts in clear and understandable language.
  • Advanced Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills.
  • Experience in data analysis and knowledge of data visualization software like Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and collaborate with others at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to follow through on issues in a timely, and if needed, persistent manner, troubleshooting and escalating issues as appropriate.
