Job Title: OES Service Engineer

Role: Customer Support Engineer for Optical Emission Spectrometers.
Location: Chennai/Coimbatore

Job Responsibilities:

1. Customer Service Support

  • Perform on-site installations of HHA product lines with a specific focus on OES.

  • Provide on-site trainings to end users for proper operation of systems, basic analytical results etc

  • Perform maintenance, repair and troubleshooting for the requisites products.

  • Render system upgrades, routine functionality checks etc in accordance with departmental pre-established standard operating procedures and policies

  • Provide support for other product lines as may be requested from time to time

  • Work closely with key accounts and also promote service contracts sale & renewals etc.

  • Ensure proper planning of customer visits.

  • Ensure end-user customer satisfaction, taking corrective action as necessary.

  • Effective use of CRM Tools like Sales Force for maintaining customer service related information including installation / service reports, warranty status, service history etc

  • Provide regular / monthly reports for all service support activities.

2. Sales Support and Maintaining Customer / Distributor Relationship

  • Establish good techno commercial relationships with customers and distributors.

  • Provide application support for OES products to customers wherever required with help of global application support team.

  • Conduct service trainings as and when required with help of global service training academy team.

  • Support marketing / sales team, furnishing leads for system sales and other market intelligence whilst in contact with customers.

  • Closely work with local Sales, Service, Product and Marketing teams to help to improve the regional business and business development activities

3. General

  • Achieve individual and team budgets set for service business for India.

  • Maintain and develop knowledge of assigned products, common applications and attend appropriate training where necessary.

  • Maintain awareness of, and minimize where possible, the expenses incurred in day to day support activities, both in terms of time and spares consumption.

  • Ensure all work is carried out safely, and comply with health and safety at work regulations.

  • Build and maintain close and effective working relationships with team members.

  • Interface with existing office team.

  • Maintain professional awareness of relevant external technical and business developments and of competitor activities where ever possible.

  • Undertake such other activities as may be assigned / requested from time to time.

Professional Skills:

1) Technical

  • Understands and manages within a technical environment

  • Able to complete installation/repairs of analytical instrument specially OES instruments (Stationary and Portable).

  • Able to work in direct service, distributor and channel management environment.

  • Able to conduct demonstrations at customer sites.

  • Strong application knowledge of OES in foundry / steel / automotive commercial testing laboratory.

  • Knowledge in XRF service would be considered as additional advantage point

2) Financial

  • Understands the key factors which influence the performance of own area of the business. Evaluates activities and decisions from a commercial perspective, achieving short-term financial efficiency and longer-term business objectives.

  • Understands the relevant market dynamics, economical factors influencing business scenario

Experience:

  • 5+ years working experience in the scientific instrumentation industry with service experience in OES Instruments.

Qualification:

Minimum 3-year technical degree/diploma in mechanical, electrical or related discipline
