BIW Applications Engineer - Auburn Hills, MI

Description

As a BIW Applications Engineer, you will work with some of the most talented engineers in the automation industry. This position works closely with Account Management, Applications Engineering and Project Management on business development as it relates to BIW automated product lines.  The innovative solutions we work on offer diverse experiences that will strengthen your skills and challenge your abilities.  


What You'll Do:

• Coordinate projects from concept to final product
• Able to present projects to customers, supervisors and peers
• Communicate directly with external customers and with internal customers on the status and development of projects
• Work with outside vendors and supplies on multiple levels, including on the equipment and technology of this area
• Use technical knowledge along with sales skills to provide advice and support to the project team; this includes being responsible for the quoting process.
• Key point of contact for the customer before, during and after the sale
• Works with many other departments including: Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Project Management, Build, etc.
• Arrange and carry out after-sale support and training
• Help in the design of custom-made products

What You'll Bring:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred
• 5+ years of experience in an Account Management, Technical Sales, Applications Engineering or Project Management role
• Previous BIW design experience
• Prior experience with process design/development preferred

• Ability to recognize and attract new customers
• Understands job costs and experience with preparing budgets for project estimates
• Advanced analytical and organizational skills
• Ability to apply qualitative and quantitative data analysis to solve problems
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, make appropriate decisions, and be comfortable in a setting where schedules and priorities change daily
