The Opportunity

We currently have an exciting and rare opportunity for an experienced Field Service Fitter Mechanic to join Hitachi's Autonomous Haulage Solutions (AHS) research and development project located within Meandu Mine on a 5/2 or 4/3 roster based in Kingaroy.

Working Monday to Friday, your key focus will be to provide preventative and breakdown maintenance on a range of mining equipment. This permanent role will allow you to access OEM training while you build a long-term career in a global company.

Reporting to the Site Manager of Autonomous Haulage Projects, you will be responsible for:

• Attending to production breakdowns and undertaking diagnostic work
• Being a part of a build team commissioning new equipment
• Liaising with technical support staff to achieve the most efficient outcomes
• Completion and submission of all relevant documentation and reporting paperwork
• Maintaining good working relationship with peers and other departments

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have relevant Mechanical trade qualifications (dual trade is desirable but not essential)
• Ensure the HCA Safety Culture is embraced, displayed and driven from within - safety takes priority over everything else
• Have experience, knowledge and understanding of civil and mining equipment
• Have a strong work ethic and the ability to work autonomously
• Have good communication and customer service skills with the ability to build long term relationships
• Have great technical knowledge and diagnostic ability
• Have experience with Microsoft suite
