Work Package Leader / System Integration Specialist
HITACHI RAIL STS USA, INC. is seeking a Work Package Leader / System Integration Specialist to work in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Position allows for the ability to work from home for up to three days per week, with appropriate telecommuting systems. The Specialist will be required to perform the following duties: (1) Assure a constant supervision of project activities/criticalities, manage extra hour’s requests and control team workloads versus budget; (2) Ensure the identification, the management and the fulfillment of the contractual requirements; (3) Identification and resolution of the interfaces with the main subsystems (including Signaling, CW, and Rolling Stock) according to the project design schedule; (4) Guarantee the preparation of the Preliminary Design, Detail Design and Installation Design for each Telecom & Security Technology according to the project design schedule; (5) Guarantee the commissioning of each Telecom & Security technology according to the project design schedule; (6) Guarantee the continuous update of the Standard design in accordance to the technology innovation and in order to reduce internal and external costs. Specific attention to Hitachi Rail STS’s CBTC and PTC solutions; and (7) Meet and interface with clients and subcontractors to meet project milestones and achieve best project delivery outcomes.
Position requires a Bachelor in Electrical, Electronics or Telecommunication Engineering, as well as three years of experience in a telecommunications engineering position with experience in railway systems engineering.
Experience required with the following: (1) experience in Design, Integrate and Test Complex Systems and subsystems; (2) experience with each of the following: (a) Transmission Systems (Wired and Wireless), (b) Telephone Systems (VoIP and legacy), (c) CCTV systems, (d) Passenger Information Systems (audio and visual), (e) Integrated Control Center systems, (f) Access Control and Intrusion Detection systems, and (g) On Board telecom & security systems for the rail industry; (3) experience with submissions and review of tenders for future projects, including generation of estimates, BOM, preliminary designs, and architectures; (4) experience with systems in PTC and CBTC (both hardware and software) analysis; (5) experience with establishing and maintaining a consistent document control, including experience using MS Project, Primavera, TeamCenter, MS Sharepoint, Doors, Visio, AutoCAD, and Bentley View; (6) experience applying engineering installations principles to the design, and with enforcing Test and Commissioning rules and standards by documentation and by proper execution of the required activities; (7) experience coordinating development and implementation of site integration test procedures and overall telecom system integration; (8) telecom field engineering experience, including cellular NOC support engineering experience; (9) lead engineering experience for Critical Network Upgrades (including Cisco, Siemens, MOXA, Belden, and Radwin); (10) core network engineering experience, as well as radio and network performance engineering experience; and (11) experience with critical projects and network key expansions nationally and internationally, including network dismantling, upgrade and expansion, network swaps, monitoring and improving radio network KPI performance
