Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia (HCA) is a leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment. With a solid network of branches nationally, we service a multitude of customers, including construction, agriculture, quarry, forestry and mining with leading OEM equipment and dedicated after sales support.

The Opportunity

With strong growth in our Service division, our Launceston branch is currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Service Coordinator to join the team. This role will be best suited to someone who enjoys varied work in a friendly and successfully busy work environment. You will be an influential member of the team coordinating service personnel and working cross-departmentally to ensure the efficient scheduling and planning of our labour service delivery to meet and exceed customer requirements.

Reporting directly to the Service Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing all scheduled and non-scheduled service requests to ensure efficient utilisation of labour, equipment and resources
  • Provide timely and accurate quotations and work orders for retail and internal jobs, delivery notices and service documentation in line with company processes
  • Coordinate administration for service personnel including timesheets, service reports, job preparation and invoicing
  • Update and maintain company service databases, registers and field service fleet vehicles
  • Submit detailed reports on behalf of the branch for Warranty and product improvements.
  • Be the first point of call for booking work and resolving our customer issues.

The successful candidate will be someone who has the ability to work well under pressure and enjoys the challenges of working in a busy field service department. Your ability to multitask and your attention to detail will be essential.


To be successful in your application you will need:

  • Safety Conscious - A strong, developed awareness and commitment to personal and peer health and safety
  • Excellent communication & customer service skills.
  • High level of enthusiasm, motivation and a preparedness to go the extra mile.
  • Experience in similar role with demonstrated experience in planning and scheduling of field service mechanical technicians (or similar).
  • Technical knowledge of earthmoving equipment would be advantageous
  • Sound administration and database management experience
