Summary of the position:

The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for maintaining a professional and proactive relationship between the organization and the Quality Department for each product group.  They will be the lead contact for the quality group during Test Cell Call Outs, identifying non-conforming material and special assignments (i.e. Reclaim Process).  In addition, they will be responsible for monitory key performance indicators (KPI’s) and actively working with Operations, Engineering, and Supplier Quality on corrective actions to obtain stated departmental goals.

This position is located at Sullair, 1 Sullair Way, Michigan City, Indiana.

1 position - 1st Shift

2 positions - 2nd Shift

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Focus on Test Cell Call Outs and Continuous Improvement, but not limited to:
    • Helping to resolve production issues related to non-conforming product.
    • Failure analysis of parts-related customer escapes.
    • Data collection for Quality Department regarding process-related issues.
    • Inspection of Reclaimed airend parts.
    • Inspection of incoming purchased parts.



  • AA/AS Degree (preferred)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt, ASQ-CQT/CMI training (preferred)

Professional experience:

  • Five years of experience in the Quality Assurance field.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Must be self-motivated and proficient at methodical problem solving, including the use of Excel (Software).
  • Must be knowledgeable of manufacturing and assembly processes, familiar with GD&T and utilization of a variety of gages and specialized equipment.
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong computer skills and be able to identify trends and RRCA using a variety of Quality tools. A written test may be administered to demonstrate these competencies.
  • Understanding of ISO9001.
