The Role

Hitachi Vantara is seeking a VP, Technical Product Management who can drive exceptional product delivery and align a broad spectrum of product initiatives in our 500+ employee engineering organization. The VP, Technical Product Management will be responsible for the success of our data management suite measured by its market adoption. This is an incredible opportunity with high visibility across the entire company. The VP, Technical Product Management will report directly to the SVP of Engineering.
Hitachi Vantara's success is based on product innovation and technical product management plays a key role in delivery of products with world-class market fit, quality at the fast speed of the markets we serve. The scope of products relevant for this role range from our Content Platform HCP to the Pentaho BI Suite and various new products in the areas of Data Management and Internet of Things applications including Edge Data Management Services.

Responsibilities:
- Maintaining a prioritized product backlog across the overall product portfolio
- Translation of product strategy and vision into realistic detailed release roadmaps for the data management suite
- Facilitation of alignment discussions and planning workshops across multiple product teams
- Functional decomposition of different product categories into distinct services to reduce overlap
- Effective reporting of delivery project progress
- Definition and enforcement of product and engineering process standards including Internationalization, Supportability, Open Source and 3rd party software, Usability and Security
- Facilitation of and Participation in development program reviews
- Definition and monitoring of common delivery metrics
- Focus on quality in all aspects of software delivery
- Monitoring of customer adoption and support metrics and facilitation of customer escalations
- Implementation of LEAN processes, organization, leadership and behavior, incl. Continuous Improvement (CI) measures.

Requirements:

• 15+ years of product leadership experience with at least 3 years in a comparable leadership function preferably with focus on product ownership and technical product management
• Exposure to a wide variety of enterprise software, cloud service and application technologies with focus on data management and analytics category products
• Excellent communication and project management skills
• Ability to deal with conflicts
• Strong working experience with agile execution methodologies
• Experience in a multi-shore and multi-product software organization
Education:
• Bachelors or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
