What you’ll be doing
To ensure sustainable growth and profitability in digital and green through the Social Innovation Business, Hitachi is undergoing a major transformation to establish a customer centric business model (incl. alignment of global processes and common digital tools).
The overall ambition of the newly created global “Account Management” department is to “Represent the Hitachi voice of/to targeted customer - fully understanding its needs while increasing the share of wallet.”
With the customer being one of the world’s largest technology corporations based in the US, the Group Account Manager defines and ensures sales targets for the account and will support the Head of Account Management in implementation of the necessary processes and frameworks (eg account plan development, share of wallet & customer satisfaction increase, capture team selling etc) for the defined target group. He/she collaborates closely with Hitachi’s Industry Segment organization as well as businesses and regions to ensure customer needs can be translated into competitive value propositions that deliver profitable orders.
The Account Management work focuses on medium to long-term planning and face-to-face selling of a variety of products, services and/or solutions across multiple lines of business, including: --
Developing medium to long-term account & sales plans and preparing strategies to protect, grow, and diversify the relationship with a defined group of customers.
Developing and identify solution-, cross/up and repeat sales opportunities.
Resolving problems and ensure customers receive high quality customer service.
Developing client retention and profitable growth plans and strategies
Reviewing and reporting on customer retention, business opportunity and market trends.
Some of the responsibilities of this role include:
Development of customer account plan and share of wallet growth actions
Setting up and driving solution selling approach
Coordination of sales activities, monitoring of current projects and managing resolution of specific customer problems.
Understanding the key business drivers and business environment and interpret the impact and opportunity for Hitachi
Creating value add for the customer and Hitachi by ensuring a coordinated sales approach
Profitable order & sales pipeline responsibility for the account
Summarizing appropriate feedback on market developments (customers & competitors) and requirements
Living core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business
What you bring to the team
We’re looking for a team player, who is motivated by delivering great work and the Hitachi vision. Some of the skills and experience we look for include:
More than 10 years of successful Account Management and marketing & sales related working experiences in the IT segment
Extensive sales management experience
Proven successful senior management experience developing and leading global teams
Digital tools (especially CRM) proficiency
Requires in-depth knowledge of companies’ goals and plans, clear focus on organizational leadership over subject matter expertise. Results orientated, self-motivated and driven
Feel comfortable in solution selling and bringing IT/Products and Solutions together in front of our targeted customers
Cultural sensitivity and openness to work in an international business environment across all timezones
Master’s degree and above in Engineering or IT. MBA in Sales & Marketing will be an added advantage.
Excellent English level. Japanese proficiency a great plus
