Job Description
The Customer Liaison position serves as a focal point for customer problems, questions, or concerns.  Liaises between the customer and with the appropriate company Team members to provide timely and accurate answers for the customers.  Assists customers with paperwork, submits required information and documents to them, and explains company processes.  Creates a rapport with customers, makes them feel comfortable, and updates them on issues pertinent to them.  This position is currently a hybrid position based in Harrodsburg, KY.  (going into HK office for 2 days minimum out of the week and working 3 days remotely from home).  Please note that working remotely is a privilege and may be taken away when company structure changes in the future or due to poor performance.  You will be trained to become a master of our Hitachi Astemo system interfaces and processes. Once trained you will be given a set of OES accounts to manage and build long-lasting relationships. You will be responsible for complete account management which would include but not limited to; communication via email platform, receive, process, and confirm customer orders, inventory management, shipment scheduling, system setup and maintenance, EDI support, attending customer calls/meetings, resolving customer complaints and processing customer returns, submitting disputes through customers’ portal. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

  • Email platform communication
  • Build and maintain relationships.
  • Attend customer calls and meetings.
  • System set-ups; updating and maintaining all appropriate files within the current company systems/software, including Customer/Destination, Parts, (Hitachi and Customers' systems such as Customer Portals and interfaces, etc.)
  • Customer communication, including Customer destination screening, and supplier conference support.
  • Receive, analyze, and process all orders from customers (EDI, non-EDI) facilitating delivery, including inventory allocation, shipment scheduling, and invoicing.
  • Maintain acceptable customer ratings, determining countermeasures for delivery, and reporting ratings and findings to Quality Assurance.
  • Maintain close contact with customers regarding immediate and long-range needs to support Production Control forecast and facilitate information flow from Customer.
  • Support all business objectives of the company by aligning activities with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Initiates measures to research and resolve customer issues, monitors customer satisfaction through follow up on solving their issues and problems and submits customer meeting reports and provides feedback to management.
  • Provides support and assistance to the management team.
  • Be a team player.

Requirements

  • Intermediate MS Excel Skills (LookUps, Pivot Tables, general functions, simple macros, etc.).
  • Computer/Software Literate (Tech Savvy).
  • Ability to train others.

Qualifications:

Education: Must possess a High School Diploma.  Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Experience: 3 -5 years prior related experience, preferably in an automotive industry setting

Ability to communicate and represent Hitachi in a professional manner with customers via telephone, email, and in person.

Additionally, the ability to work independently with minimal direction is required as are strong verbal and written communication skills.

Working Conditions:

Physical Demands: Required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Ability to work flexible hours based on need (communication with other facilities outside the US may be required).

Travel: Domestic travel may be required as needed to customer sites on occasion.
