We are the software defined storage QA team within Hitachi Vantara, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. Working both together and across component development teams we aim to learn from each other to improve our testing methods to ensure quality at every point in the development lifecycle in order to deliver a high quality, reliable product to our customers.

What you'll be doing

You will be a key member of the SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) team working on the next generation of our filesystem. You will be responsible for developing and implementing functionality in an automation framework in order to enable test in a distributed environment.

In addition, you will assist the team implementing automated test cases to be integrated into the CI/CD pipeline. The team and organization are growing quickly providing excellent opportunities for growth in your career.

What you bring to the team

• An ability to think creatively to identify areas requiring test coverage, then working effectively with developers to create assertions about behaviour in order to maximise the coverage of our automated testing
• You will apply your knowledge of storage, NAS, cloud object storage and/or file systems to identify new ways to test a distributed filesystem
• You will be using your extensive skills in Python and CI tools such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions to extend and expand the capabilities of our test automation framework and tests
• Your experience of working in an Agile environment to help refine work and ensure testability in all we do
