Environmental Health Safety Administrator
Location: Greenfield, IN, USA
The purpose of this position is to support the planning, implementing, and coordinating of safety and environmental programs to encourage safe working practices, while preventing or correcting unsafe working conditions. This person will address conditions that could have a negative impact on the environment and the company.
•EHS Compliance - Audits, equipment evaluations
•Manage Uniform program.
•Support ISO 14001 program.
•Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge skills and abilities:
•Ability to promote and carry out the "Hitachi Astemo Philosophy".
•Ability to maintain a high level of flexibility and be able to adapt to changing requirements and priorities.
•Proven ability to:
oConfer with and prepare reports and presentations for HSE Coordinator and Manager as needed.
oEnsure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations within areas of responsibility.
oInteract with various levels of associates.
oAnalyze technology, resource needs, market demand, and confers with all departments to assess feasibility of projects.
oInvestigate and recommend cost savings and efficiency ideas for the facility.
oManage the chemical safety program and maintain safety and industrial health programs to prevent, correct, or control unsafe conditions and ensure compliance.
oExamine plans and specifications for new machinery or equipment to determine if all safety requirements have been included.
oAssist with the design or selection of safety devices for machinery or safety clothing and work with appropriate personnel to direct installation of safety devices on machinery.
oConduct or coordinate training of workers concerning safety laws and regulations, use of safety equipment, devices, clothing and first aid, etc.
oInspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
oConduct or direct, plant or area, surveys or tests to determine safety levels and/or compliance for exposure to materials and conditions.
•High School Diploma or Equivalent.
•Excellent working knowledge of computer systems and spreadsheets necessary to perform job duties.
•Ability to obtain and follow EHS regulations as they apply to manufacturing.
•Advanced proficiency in Windows, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
