Location: Muncie, IN, USAThe purpose of this position is to implement repairs and improvement activities on molding dies and Maintain molding machines/auxiliary support equipment.Job Summary:

Complete General Mold Maintenance and Production Support.
Repair broken molds and flash in house when possible.
Troubleshoot die issues.
Work with New Model Engineers on new model development, through die trials.
Recommend die improvements.
Schedule die maintenance.
Complete documentation and reports as necessary.
MRO ordering/supplies, work with outside vendors.
Train engineers in die repair.
Maintain Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) activities.
Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Knowledge skills and abilities:

Promote and carry out the "Hitachi Astemo Philosophy".
Clearly communicate through written and verbal skills with people outside the department/suppliers.
Analyze test results and provide feedback and interpretation to production management or staff.
Create and implement inspection testing criteria or procedures.
Evaluate and implement integrated process and documentation which spans multiple mfg. lines.
Support New Model Engineers with integration of numerous process and/or products.
Coordinate with suppliers for accurate part manufacturing and delivery deadlines. (More heavily)
Develop and deliver presentations, train others.
Develop manufacturing process for new products/product -- modifying equipment to accept new tooling changes.
Communicate with outside suppliers.

Education:

2-year degree in Technical Discipline plus 4 years related work experience OR a minimum of 8-10 years of related work experience.


Experience:

Strong working knowledge in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to read mechanical prints and troubleshooting skills.
Experience in Plastic Injection Molding: Ube/Toshiba/Nissea/etc.
Experience with programming 3 Dimensional robots for part pick.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Limited supervision/direction for molding technical staff.


Working conditions:


Physical Demands:

Standing, walking, bending for long periods of time for duration of workday.
Occasionally working for long periods of time while sitting.
Ability to lift and carry or otherwise move 25-50 pounds regularly.
Visual ability to work accurately with detailed information and a computer screen.
Full motor skills.
Factory setting with noise.

Travel: 5% Domestic and international travel may be required as needed.
