6-months, home-based, Internship to support the business and technology requirements of Hitachi’s Environment Business Division.
As a Strategy & Ventures Analyst Intern, you will be representing Hitachi and regularly interacting with Startups, (Corporate) Venture Funds and internal Business Units.
Perform business and technology analyses and work with management to identify business priorities, identify startups that meet our requirements and create new partnership opportunities. All of these activities are performed within the ‘Environment’ theme.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assess ecosystems and competitive dynamics, partner needs, competitive players
Explore and analyze technology trends in the industry and identify venture opportunity areas
Identify venture opportunity areas through the analysis of Hitachi’s Business Unit strategies
Scout databases, reports and attend conferences / meetings to identify interesting startups and track these in a structured manner
Meet with startups and analyze the startup’s strengths and weaknesses and their technology assets and capabilities.
Summarize and present selected startups to Business Units and identify importance of a potential collaboration / partnership
Prepare regular update reports and other communication materials for internal stakeholders
Communicate with Venture Funds’ stakeholders and represent Hitachi in the investor scene
Support ad-hoc projects such as presentations and conference planning of relevant stakeholders
Skills & Competencies Required
Bachelor's Degree and / or Masters in an area such as Sustainability Strategy, Technology & Information Management or equivalent work experience
Ability to impact operations and effect change without being confrontational
Detail oriented, analytical and inquisitive
Ability to work independently and with others in a (virtual) team
Extremely organized with strong time-management skills
Experience of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
