Learning Design & Delivery Specialist 


Grade: Specialist

Job Scope:

The Learning Design & Delivery Specialist is responsible for designing and delivering learning and development curriculum across Hitachi. They are the subject matter experts in instructional design, with an understanding of modern learning methods, technologies, and trends. The specialist works closely with the Talent Development Center of Expertise, HRBP and the Business to devise and implement a talent development intervention in line with business needs and upskill Hitachi’s workforce. The Specialist also closely partners with the Learning Management System (LMS) Technology and HiNext teams to manage learner profiles and data and address LMS functionality issues.


Job Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with GBS functional and delivery leads, Subject Matter Experts (SME) in regions, and the Business to build and execute talent development initiatives.

  • Partners with Talent Development Lead to understand and design competency-based learning experiences

  • Serves as a Subject Matter Expert in learning design and delivery, including knowledge of leading practices, methods, and technologies

  • Analyzes learning request, estimates effort and timeline required, and determines development approach

  • Manages overall learning project timelines, milestones, and risks

  • Design learning storyboard, builds content, and determines delivery method (e.g., in-person, virtual, online)

  • Prototypes learning solutions and refines based on customer feedback

  • Determines and documents operational needs (e.g., print material, supplies, physical location & space, shipping & logistics, learning evaluations, post-learning activities) with GBS Learning Administration team

  • Deploys and publishes learning courses and material

  • Reviews course evaluations and customer feedback, modifying learning experience as needed

  • Engages and manages third-party learning partners.

Additional Responsibilities to support Learning Operations:

  • Maintain global course catalogue in the Learning Management System

  • Set up courses and sessions in the LMS and manage session scheduling

  • Communicate learning course availability and enrollment updates with learning stakeholders

  • Support scheduling, enrollment, and registration of in-person, virtual, and online courses

  • Partner with LMS and other functional teams to configure and manage learner profiles

  • Capture and report on overall learner attendance and course evaluations, including instructor feedback and learner satisfaction

Experience: Minimum 7-8 years

  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Good analytical and methodical skills.
