ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop, promote, maintain, and execute Quality Assurance Systems in aliment with IATF 16949, Customer-Specific Requirements, Hitachi Global/Reginal/Company Standards, and Business Unit Specific Requirements.
  • Manage Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) targets and drive improvement strategies for the site, including directly supporting the recreation plans and monitoring actions to closure.
  • Mentor Quality Managers for each business unit to achieve objectives and problem resolutions, including Customer PPAP tracking, Customer Scores, and Corrective Action Reporting. Serve as an advisor to confirm the approval and closure of these items.
  • Directly manage all site Quality Operations include, Quality Systems, APQP after SOP, Quality Inspections and Supplier Quality support.
  • Serve as an advisor for the closer of all Corrective Actions. Analyzing customer and regulatory requirements to assess their effect on the internal Quality System. Drive systematic improvement to eliminate repeat issues and improve customer trust.
  • Plan and support all internal, customer, and agency audits along with the respective BUQA Managers and work with the team to close all issues.
  • Interface with supplier and customer quality representatives as the lead for the Georgia facility for escalated issues.
  • Plan and assign work to subordinates. Responsible for Quality Assurance Department in terms of costs, methods, and personnel.
  • Compile, write and deliver training material on quality standards and activities. Qualify personnel performing special processes.
  • Plan and maintain Investment Budget. Support the review of the planning of all QA budget areas. Develop and/or adapt inspection equipment to meet quality control standards, suggest procedures, standards, and equipment to facilitate work, and maintain product quality.
  • Compile and submit reports on quality issues, trends and losses as required by Executive Management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor’s degree in the sciences preferred with a minimum of ten (10) years of work experience in Quality Assurance in the automotive industry.
  • Experience with IATF/ISO and Internal Quality Systems.
  • Knowledge and use of a wide variety of measuring instruments and GD&T.
  • Diverse knowledge of inspection protocols and statistical process control methods, techniques and documentation.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate in both written format and oral presentation.
  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
  • Manager experience with extensive experience on team facilitation and project management.
  • Must be proficient in MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint. Some Access experience preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for the direction and management of the organization Quality Mind Set and directly managing all site based personnel.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Required to sit for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Usual office working conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet. The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment and steel toe shoes.
