Role Overview

6-months, home-based, Internship to support the communications and storytelling requirements of Hitachi’s Environment Business Division.

As a Communications and Storytelling Intern, you will be creating and managing communications material, including but not limited to: trend reports, newsletters, start-up analysis, company reporting and conference speeches and presentations.

Prepare and synthesize research and insights into concise and well designed presentations and work with management to identify the key storyline, supporting content and slides outlining the potential opportunities of new trends, technology and relates start-ups with the end goal to create new partnership opportunities. All of these activities are performed within the ‘Environment’ theme.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop visual materials to support different communications including trend analysis, start-up analysis and (reporting) presentations

  • Support the planning, promotion, execution and follow up of various communication plans

  • Develop content for Hitachi’s internal communication channels

  • Manage and follow up various projects with different stakeholders

  • Prepare regular update reports and other communication materials for internal stakeholders

  • Support ad-hoc projects such as presentations and conference planning, including speeches of relevant stakeholders

Skills & Competencies Required

  • Bachelor or Master degree (completed or ongoing) in communication, design, digital communication or equivalent education or capabilities

  • Excellent knowledge of picture/video edition software and PowerPoint

  • Ability to connect to colleagues and stakeholders, build communication objectives from the various expectations and deliver on them in a creative and visual way

  • Ability to work autonomously and show initiative in a challenging environment

  • Event Management interest and/or experience an advantage

  • Ability to impact operations and effect change without being confrontational

  • Eye for detail, including the technicalities of the presentation material and templates

  • Ability to work independently and with others in a (virtual) team

  • Extremely organized with strong time-management skills

  • Works Well Under Pressure

  • Confident and credible communication skills displaying both technical knowledge and commercial understanding

  • Problem Solving abilities

  • Critical Thinking

  • Strong Relationship Building skills

  • Proficiency in English
