Description

Engineering Installation Team Leader, for railway projects, to join Hitachi Rail Design Engineering Team.

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated senior Installation Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. This position is based in Riverdale WA.

Accountabilities not limited to:

  • Provide support to subsystems for installation design definition.
  • Provide support to site activities for what concern the applicability of the installation design
  • Manage the installation interfaces with civil work contractor/partner assuring that the related design requirements are properly incorporated in to the civil design.
  • Coordinate the surveys in brown filed projects, for what concerns the equipment and cable ways layout installation design, basing its activity on the surveys performed by other ASTS subsystems.
  • Elaborate, propose and control the project delivery budget in coherence with the company strategy.
  • Ensure the staffing for Projects bidding and delivery phases according to the requests of the PE.
  • Ensure the delivery on time, budget and quality of the assigned tasks.
  • Ensure efficiency through standardization of installation design procedures and typical installation drawings across different projects (e.g. Design specifications).
  • Manage and optimize competences, workloads and resources management according to Company and market trends.
  • Ensure capitalization and sharing of knowledge (e.g. best practice, lesson learned).
  • Contribute to the definition of the Function overall budget.
  • Collaborate with Academy in order to define the training needs and related training plans.
  • Provide a valid and effective technological Competence in core Subsystems design Analysis for what concerns installation
  • Assure the design compliance to the installation requirements provided by subsystems
  • Supporting the weekly and monthly Project reporting requirements.

Desired Skills/Knowledge:

Rail/ metro experience desirable

Familiar with installation principals within a railway environment
Basic knowledge of electrical systems preferred
Willingness to travel domestically or internationally as required per business needs.

Prior experience collaborating with a diverse, cross-functional team across multiple geographic locations

   Education:
           

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
