Job Description


We are growing our multidisciplinary User-Centred Design consulting team and looking for a Lead Service Designer to join us on our exciting journey and be part of the Hitachi Solutions family. This role will be responsible for enabling the best-in-class digital transformation for our clients in both public and private sectors.

Key responsibilities
  • Championing the user-centred and evidence-based design approach internally and externally
  • Supporting growth, mentoring, and leading Service Design professionals across our business in the UK and Europe
  • Working with service owners, programme managers and technology leaders to develop end-to-end design concepts
  • Supporting digital transformation programmes in the public and private sectors
  • Setting the service design direction across the full software delivery lifecycle
  • Coordinating, planning and leading service design activities across the key clients and large-scale programmes
  • Communicating complex concepts in a simple and graspable way


As an experienced Learning Consultant, you have...
  • Experienced in recruiting, mentoring and leading other members of User-Centred Design team
  • Planning service design for large programmes and delivering the best methods of value outcomes
  • Facilitate workshops to understand and prioritise problems, opportunities and translate outcomes into a business value
  • Lead teams to understand complex challenges in the public or private sectors
  • You have experience in creating service maps, customer journeys, blueprints or any other artefacts that can help organisations to understand systems and services
  • Lead service design work in early-stage discovery and vision definition projects
  • You can champion the role of service design in creation of better products, services, and solutions
  • Expert knowledge and know how to apply GDS Service Standard
  • Strong communication skills and are comfortable working with engineering, business leaders, and product leader
