Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Service & Maintenance & Technical Bid Analysis who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Naples, Italy.

Main Responsibilities

  • Perform S&M bid technical requirements analysis and allocation
  • Develop bid technical documentation relevant to operation, maintenance and warranty support and/or any kind of service relevant to S&M business
  • Coordinate all the technical proposal documentation relevant to S&M offers
  • Estimate all S&M technical costs in terms of manpower, materials, subcontracts, auxiliary expenses, etc.
  • Estimate all technical risks with support of Operations department and PM
  • Cooperate with Operations referent for validation of input for technical cost estimation and technical proposal
  • Collect and consolidate input for cost estimation from staff functions
  • Support Sales in the definition of the optimal economic offer, based on contractual  conditions
  • Support Sales during whole Phase Gate process
  • Support Finance providing input  for the determination of VAE and NPV indicators

Key Skills & Experience

It is our expectation that successful applicants should be able to demonstrate all of the experience and skills listed below:

Essential Requirements

  • Knowledge of S&M principles such as Maintenance planning, maintenance strategies, S&M organizations standard profiles, spare parts stock dimensioning and materials management
  • Knowledge of Economic principles/bidding process such as requirements management, cost estimation, technical coordination.
  • Knowledge of Rail environment: knowledge of different technologies/subsystems characterizing rail environment and vehicles, usual stakeholders and relevant role
  • ability to analyze documentation
  • ability to work in a team, but also to develop S&M processes independently 

Qualifications

  • Proficient in English both written and verbal
  • Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Science or equivalent

Desirable Requirements

  • Previous experience in complex bids managing requirements analysis and allocation, being in charge of cost estimation and coordinating technical deliverables even within consortium structures
  • Previous experience in Service and Maintenance (involvement into mobilization process and or S&M operations/engineering activities)
  • Previous experience in Rail projects/bids
  • Knowledge of a language other than English - (a good written and spoken knowledge of the German language is desirable)
  • Skills in cost modelling
