Your new role

In this exciting role you will be responsible for conducting quality control activities for Hitachi Rail Fleets.

The ideal candidate for this role needs to be flexible to work days, nights and weekends when required. You will also need to live within a 60 minute commute of the Arlington site.

Specifically, you will be responsible for the following deliverables:

  • Conduct in process checks on maintenance and modification activities and process to demonstrate compliance
  • Highlight areas of noncompliance to procedures, standards and regulation.
  • Identify and record opportunities for improvement through observation and discussion with technicians and project management
  • Identify and record instances of good practice to speed up evolution of maintenance practices.
  • Ensure that NCR issued are addressed with a suitable plan in place and that action are being progressed in a timely manner.
  • Escalate any significant noncompliance to the Quality Manager
  • Assist with the management and administration of Quality Control processes.

Key Skills & Experience

Essential Requirements

Applicants should be able to demonstrate all of the Essential Requirements listed below:

  • Experience of working in a Quality role - railway would be advantage but not essential.
  • Have an understanding of Quality and CI tools such as: APQP; Kaizen; SixSigma.
  • Practical experience of working in an engineering environment (Rolling Stock Maintenance preferred)
  • Ability to work to technical drawings and specifications.
  • Good analytical skills;
  • Very good communication and interpersonal skills,
  • Computer literacy: SAP; MS Office; etc.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Commitment to working as part of a team
  • An understanding of health and safety requirements of a working environment

Qualifications

  • Auditor qualification and experience
  • HNC in an Electrical or Mechanical subject.
