General Responsibilities:

Under general direction of a higher level engineer or manager, the primary responsibility of this position is to design, plan, test, and coordinate multiple processes of product development used in automotive suspension system design and application.

Job Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of this position includes, but is not limited to:

  • Individual will be responsible for coordinating all product development activity between OEM customer and responsible departments within the company.
  • Individual will need to comprehend and transfer customer requirements to responsible activities within the company.
  • Facilitate and manage program QCD timing in the roll of system engineer.
  • Facilitate and manage system level design and component and vehicle interaction cascading the requirement as necessary to the respective support teams.
  • Directly communicate and interface with OEM customers for issues regarding the products, including customers’ related concerns.
  • Review and interface with OEM customer new technology application.
  • Conduct and/or support lab testing necessary for related product/technology.
  • Support sales staff to develop and establish marketing/pricing strategy.
  • Work in conjunction with vehicle development team.
  • Knowledge of TS16949 requirements to support job responsibilities.

Support and facilitate necessary CAD/CAE activity related to new technology development.

Qualifications (Education, Skills and/or special Knowledge):

The ideal candidate will:

  • Prior experience on new technology development and core engineering is a plus.
  • Have working knowledge and experience with APQP program management
  • Be proficient with
    • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
    • Microsoft Project
  • Experience with the following is desired, (not required)
    • CAD software (i.e. CATIA V4, V5, UG, Solidworks preferred)
    • CAE/FEA software (ie.. ANSYS)
    • Math software - Matlab/Simulink,
    • Programming Language - Visual Basic, C++
    • Statistical software – ie. Minitab
  • Have experience tracking and reporting design changes.

The ability to work as core coordinator of a global cross functional team applying effective verbal and written communication skills is a must.

Education:      Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or equivalent)

Experience:    Minimum of 5 years’ experience in automotive or related field.

Job level determined by various factors such as organization size, responsibility, career stage, and capabilities.

Working conditions:

Physical Demands:  Required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Travel: Domestic and international may be required as needed.
