Global Mobility Admin Specialist

What you’ll be doing
You will be a relocation counsellor and mobility specialist responsible for relocation coordination management providing end to end relocation support to the relocating expatriates, walking them through the relocation process steps, handholding them. You would also manage and provide support to the assignee, business, and other stakeholders throughout the assignment life cycle. As mobility specialist you will also facilitate the administration of mobility-related benefits and compensation packages. The Specialist is also responsible for researching, modelling, and evaluating mobility programs as part of Hitachi’s Total Rewards Strategy. The specialist will also have to ensure all the immigration and tax compliances are taken care of by partnering with the vendors. They are knowledgeable on leading practices and understand how mobility fits into business strategy.
What you bring to the team
We’re looking for a team player, who is independent and motivated by delivering great work and is aligned to Hitachi’s vision. Some of the skills and experience we look for includes:
Minimum of 1.5 to 2 years of experience as a relocation counsellor or coordinator with an understanding of the industry and experience in dealing with the relocation & shipping vendors.
Serves as a point of contact to the relocating expatriate and their families and provide end to end support with relocation and shipping
Strong customer service mindset who can handhold and expatriates and take them through the relocation process
An experienced relocation professional who can anticipate issues and is able to address them proactively
Willing to work in the pacific time zone which will be between 8pm and 5am IST
Provide guidance and end-to-end mobility support to assignees throughout their assignment (from pre-departure activities through repatriation)
Manages the international mobility processes
Gathers and validates required information from the assignee and BU HR
Partners with business managers, BU HR, GBS HR Total Rewards & Performance Management, and third-party partners to determine and administer relocation package
Manages day to day relationships with mobility partners and helps facilitate the resolution of support and service issues
Coordinates relocation logistics between host and home country, including country briefings, cultural assessments, and cultural trainings
Validates assignment allowances and calculates allowance prorations
Initiates mobility services such as tax, immigration, home finding, and other assignment related services
Serves as a subject matter expert and point of escalation for mobility research and administration inquiry
Provides policy counselling to assignees and ensure expectations are defined
Responds to issues and problems and escalates to appropriate parties
Supports assignments and stakeholders in North America working hours

Excellent communication skills
Customer service oriented
Cultural awareness or experience living/working abroad preferred
At least 5 years of relevant experience
Previous in-house mobility experience or in the corporate relocation industry preferred
Establish clear directions and able to communicate directions clearly
Experience in writing SOP’s & creating process maps.
Knowledge of Assignment Pro – preferred
Experience or working knowledge of expatriate payroll and tax desired
Bilingual English and Japanese preferred
Self-motivated and great at time management
