As the Senior Manager, Human Resources Business Partner, you will embolden Senior Leaders to drive continuous improvement efforts as they relate to HR projects and people metrics. You will be a strategic partner to the business as you advance our performance management, salary, merit and succession planning, and employee morale initiatives.

This is a hybrid role located in Holland, MI with travel up to 25% to other business units.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Report directly to the Vice President Human Resources
  • Strategic Partnering with Senior Leaders and Management to lead key HR initiatives, projects, and people metrics
  • Lead, mentor, coach, develop & provide guidance to direct reports withing the HR team and support their activities and initiatives
  • Provides day-to-day employee performance guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Collaborates and consults with all levels of line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
  • Lead performance management, salary/merit and succession planning processes for respective client groups
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
  • Manages, counsels, and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations as needed
  • Counsel managers on effective documentation practices for all levels of performance, ensuring consistency in criteria for performance
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the Legal department as needed and/or required
  • Administer corporate programs including Merit & Salary Planning Process, Performance Management & Evaluation, Annual Employment Engagement Survey, etc.
  • Provides guidance and recommendation on workforce planning, organizational design, succession planning, and business unit restructures as warranted
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR VP and organization to develop solutions, programs, processes, and policies
  • Analyze compensation data to ensure appropriate market adjustments and internal equity
  • Work with HR VP on total rewards initiatives, improvements & change initiatives
  • Works with the Talent Acquisition Team and hiring managers to effectively and efficiently identify and fill vacancies with high caliber employees at competitive wages.
  • Participates in evaluation, identification, and monitoring of training needs and programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met
  • Ability to coach managers and supervisors at all levels providing timely and constructive feedback to help them improve their leadership effectiveness. Will coach managers and acts as an employee champion and business change agent for the respective client groups
  • Identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs
  • Other duties as assigned by VP HR

What You’ll Bring: 

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of HR Business Partner experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Degree in Business, Human Resources, or Psychology preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of HR Leadership experience supporting executive/senior leadership and leading a team
  • Proven ability to accept and give direction, set expectations, and drive accountability
  • Strong leadership, communication, and project skills with the ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects and initiatives

Skills You’ll Have: 

  • Intermediate or Advanced level skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
