Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Import & Export Operational Trade Compliance Officer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based inTurin, Italy.

We are looking for Import & Export Operational Trade Compliance Officer to join our Rail Control Business Unit .

  • The Import & Export Operational Trade Compliance Officer is responsible to ensure that all local business processes in the Europe & Australia Area are aligned with Hitachi Rail policies and guidelines.
  • The Import & Export Operational Trade Compliance Officer is also responsible to ensure that all the activities within the Business Unit are compliant with Customs and Trade applicable requirements (in particular but not limited to sanctions, export compliance etc.).

Key Responsabilities

  • Ensure correct classification of purchased third-party products, software and raw material (in particular but not limited to country of origin, HS code, Dual Use classification etc.).
  • Check, manage and archive information received from Suppliers updating all the relevant Export/Import control Data.
  • Draft the necessary Custom document (e.g. Origin Declaration, free export declaration etc.).

Skills and Qualifications

  • Upper Secondary Education Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree
  • Knowledge of export control, Customs rules and regulations (willingness to learn).
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role in order to effectively communicate across all levels of Businesses.
  • Business mind-set, responsiveness, strong sense of ownership, self-driven, willingness to explore.
  • Good communication skills and ability to interact at all levels of the organization and competent Authorities
  •  Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  •  Fluent in English

Desired characteristics: technical knowledge of products, software and applied technologies (willingness to learn).
