Hitachi Rail is seeking an experienced Associate Contract Manager to join our Brisbane-based project team with permanent contract. Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Implement/maintain high quality subcontract registers – variations/change management, correspondence, documentation and contract performance.
  • Monitor and manage supplier/subcontractor’s ongoing compliance and timely performance of contractual obligations as described in Hitachi standard forms of agreement. 
  • Manage variation review and approval process to ensure compliance with subcontractor agreements while driving VFM outcomes for the alliance.
  • Contractual/administrative support to Project Management/Delivery team.
  • As a key member of the Commercial and Contracts team, actively contribute to increasing commercial acumen amongst the wider Alliance team.
  • Provide contractual consultation/clarification to members of the wider Alliance team where required.
  • Alliance head contract management including KPI and KRA management and Risk and Opportunity governance.
  • Contribute to monthly alliance forecasting and reporting.
  • Assist with monthly subcontractor progress claim workflow.
  • Final account negotiation/resolution.

Desired Knowledge/ Experience:

  • Experience in the railway/infrastructure industry is preferred but not essential.
  • Minimum 5 years’ contract admin experience, preferably working in complex technical or engineering-based organisation/s.
  • Applicants with transport infrastructure and/or alliance-contracting experience will be strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as Contracts Administrator, preferably in the rail/infrastructure/resource industry.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (Degree or diploma in Construction Management/Quantity Surveying or equivalent)
