Account Manager, E-Commerce and Logistics

As the Subject Matter Expert / Account Manager for our material handling systems vertical segment, you will provide technical guidance, assist in preparing project quotes for custom automated solutions and act as a strategic partner to the business.

This segment of our business has seen remarkable growth in the last few years. This could be your opportunity to influence how the world manages product with some of the largest e-commerce and logistics companies. 

In this role you will work remotely and travel to JR Automation sites, customer sites, and 3rd party partners with the world’s leading companies to design, build & integrate custom automation solutions. Operationally JR has recently invested by developing/growing an internal high volume team, focused on the production and deployment of systems in high volume, primarily in response to Logistics opportunities. 

What You'll Do:

• Strategize with the e-commerce and logistics team on Large Account Management Plans. Execute and continue to develop the methods by which to penetrate deeper into existing customers for work.
• Continue to develop and drive 3 – 5 year strategic planning for this vertical.
• Provide direction and solutions during sales meetings on strategic initiatives.
• Develop conceptual designs for strategic work within the vertical, working jointly with the Application Engineering teams of multiple Business Units.
• Add engineering expertise to e-commerce and logistics projects when required with the various functional teams.
• Represent JR at various technical forums or professional organizations (i.e. RIA, AIAA, SAE)
• Work internally with the Marketing department to better position JR within the vertical.
• Speak effectively to groups of customers or employees of the organization related to e-commerce and logistics as the resident SME (Subject Matter Expert).
• Ensure major proposals represent the best that JR has to offer in accordance with the customer’s requirements and expectations.

What You'll Bring:

• Education – Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline
• 10+ years of work experience in material handling, distribution, or warehouse industry.
• A Master’s degree in a technical or commercial field is a plus.

Skills You'll Have:

• Experience with conceptualizations, 3D simulations, bills of material, fixtures, and machine design.
• Specific experience or exposure to Robotic Material Handling, Conveyer systems, Pick and place, 3D vision, AGV/AMR technologies etc.
• Cross-functional experience and successful examples working within a matrixed organization
• Existing network within the e-commerce and logistics field. Known as a Technical Expert in this field.
• Experienced mentor, trainer and coach.
