Job Purpose

Candidates for consideration will be responsible for developing Hardware in the Loop test systems to support control development test and validation efforts within the Systems Engineering & Software Engineering as part of Bench & Tools development team!


Key Accountabilities & Key Activities

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, validate, and document Matlab/Simulink models for interfacing to HIL system hardware and communication networks.
  • Design, build, validate, and document HIL I/O circuits and wiring harnesses to interface HIL simulator to electronic control units and subsystem sensors and actuators.
  • Design, implement, validate, and document test scripts, test automation, and user interfaces for HIL system.
  • Work closely with control system developers and tester to create HIL test plans, validate operation of Control System software and hardware on HIL, process and analyse test data, and create test reports.
  • Maintain HIL system operation with updates to interface models, system hardware, user interfaces, and test automation as required.
  • Develop application specific requirements on HIL setup (open/closed loop)
  • Develop, maintain bench setup to verify controls operations/checks and perform tests
  • Integrate plant models to perform hybrid HIL-MIL models
  • Perform open-loop and closed-loop bench commissioning
  • Work with an interdisciplinary team of engineers at global level
  • Provide technical lead on his perimeter especially on software, HIL and electronics hardware & capable to animate development workshops
  • Define worldwide bench standardization strategy and ensure their roll out on local sites.

Key Professional Competencies

  • Software/System/Mechanical background Tests / Benches expertise
  • Experience with Vector CAN tools/gateways (CANape, CANalyzer, or CANoe) for data collection, analysis, and vehicle diagnostics
  • Ability to read and analyse digital communications data (CAN/LIN/Ethernet)
  • CAN_FD simulation on Scalexio
  • Experience with various vehicle networking including CAN, CANFD, and Automotive Ethernet
  • Experience with vehicle dynamics, environmental and ADAS system simulation modeling within tools such as ASM
  • Model based design and testing of control systems using Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow
  • Knowledge on Automotive ECUS (ESP/Brake ECU/Chassis/Transmission, etc.)
  • Software debugging skills and tools
  • Prolifient in Matlab/Simulink/Python
  • Knowledge on Automotive Domain and Electronic Product Development and testing
  • Knowledge of statistical methods and modelling to validate vehicle safety systems
  • Knowledge of standard process development standards ( ASPICE, ISO 262662..)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present technical material to individuals at all levels of the organization

  • Communication and writing capacity for technical documentations
  • Fluent English level, French.

Qualification & Experience          

  • Bachelor/ Master of Science in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Engineering degree from an accredited university
  • Work experience (>3 year) and/or academic research in an automotive engineering environment
  • Previous experience in HIL/SIL/VIL development using dSPACE or equivalent equipment
