Summary of the position:

We are seeking a driven team player with experience operating CNC sheet metal bending equipment. This position requires an individual to perform bending operations on CNC press brakes and automated panel benders. The individual will be completely responsible for producing high quality product safely and efficiently.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Ability to adjust bend dimensions by making changes to the programs in the CNC software, to adjust bend angles and locations.
  • The Press Brake Machine Operator will SET UP and OPERATE machines and CNC controls to bend, form, punch, or straighten metal as specified by work order, blueprints, drawing, templates, or layout.
  • Measures workpiece and verifies dimensions using calipers, templates, straightedge, and scale.
  • Responsible for ensuring machine is running efficiently throughout the production day and jobs are pre-staged to minimize machine downtime.
  • Responsible for loading proper tooling in press brakes.
  • Drive a forklift, operating cranes and other machinery to transport materials.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School Education or equivalent.

Professional experience:

  • Working knowledge of CNC brake press equipment.
  • 5-10 years brake press experience preferred and/or brake press machine trades schooling.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Understand technical blueprints.
  • Computer skills required (i.e., spreadsheets, data entry, email).
  • Ability to use precision measurement device to work within tight tolerances
  • Exhibits customer-focused behavior through effective communication with internal customers, peers and leadership team.

  • Lifting up to 35 lbs.
  • Lifting over 35 lbs. requires a lifting device, crane, or assistance from another associate.
  • Standing and walking minimum of 8 hours.
  • Must be able to bend/stoop, squat/crouch, kneel and twist
  • Working with cranes, sharp edges on machined parts, and moving parts by carts.
  • Must understand and comply with Sullair Safety Standards.
  • Participate in EHS quarterly audits, if required.
  • Required to wear the proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the work area.
  • Required to attend scheduled toolbox and safety meetings.
  • Must immediately report injuries or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
