Description
As our Compensation Business Partner, your primary responsibility is to ensure that JR offers pay plans that are competitive, fiscally viable, and in accordance with state and federal laws. You will be responsible for the development and administration of a compensation framework for hourly, salary, sales & executive leadership. Success in this position requires careful evaluations of job wages, employee performance, benefits, pay incentives, bonus programs, and more. You will deal with large quantities of data so being highly organized and detail oriented will be important characteristics to bring to this role Also, having strong interpersonal skills will be critical as you will frequently interact with others.
Your analysis of compensation surveys and recommendations to grading/market pricing will be essential. One of your main responsibilities includes managing the Annual Merit Review Process.
This is a remote position requiring 10-15% travel based on business needs.
What You’ll Do:
Compensation Process Administration
- Develop and administer an overall JR compensation framework (hourly, salary, sales, executives)
- Design pay plans that are competitive, fiscally, viable, and in accordance with state and federal laws.
- Conduct job audits – analyze jobs and determines salary ranges/grades based on compensable job factors and survey data to maintain salary range/grade equity.
- Assist in developing compensation recommendations for new hires, promotions, and other actions such as retirements, special incentives, and retention programs.
- Evaluate salary data from job descriptions, input from managers, job questionnaires, observations of work and interviews with position incumbents as necessary.
- Maintain the job description database and publish on company
- Explain, train, and negotiate salary range/grade designations with managers/supervisors.

- Serve as the subject matter expert and provide oversight to innovative and balanced Incentive Programs, Awards & Recognition Strategies that align to our business objectives.
Salary Survey Management
- Analyze compensation data and competitive benchmarking to ensure appropriate job matches, levels and associated salary ranges for all levels of the organization.
- Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely execution of core compensation processes and providing analytical insight to Executive Leadership.
- Participate in salary surveys, extracting and compiling pertinent data to complete survey Conducts surveys for salary planning, determination of hiring rates, job evaluation and to seek data for unusual positions.
- Respond to requests for salary survey data. Develops and evaluates salary survey data by analysis of third- party survey results and/or through direct contact with other data sources to match jobs and obtain salary information
- Evaluate market and economic trends to recommend ranges, adjustments and hiring rates for salary structures and individual rates as requested.
- Detail how an individual rep or sales team is to be paid for achieving sales goals, addressing base salary, commissions, and incentives, and linking these monetary rewards with sales performance.
Annual Merit Process
- Oversee the merit process for the company by providing the data for planning and the consolidating for a roll-up at the conclusion of the planning process.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (8 years or related experience in lieu of education).
- Minimum of 3 years of compensation Executive compensation experience preferred.
- Organized, team player with a customer-focused Aptitude to deliver high quality, accurate and timely work under tight deadlines and juggle multiple responsibilities.
- Strong work ethic, sense of urgency and passion for delivering flawless Ability to deal with ambiguity and rapidly adapt to change in time-sensitive situations.
Skills You’ll Have:
- Intermediate to expert user with MS Proficiency with MS Power BI, MS Teams, and Sharepoint preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to creatively frame and solve complex problems through rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis & Strong business acumen and ability to communicate data-driven insights and trends.
