ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist Administration Department to maintain and improve employee relations through (ASTEMO)AM-GA’s employee relations programs such as employee appreciation events, meal requests, and vending and coffee systems.
  • Assist Administration Department to maintain and improve communication throughout the organization by coordinating companywide activities including monthly round table meetings, suggestion box program, and newsletters.
  • Assist Administration Department to maintain and improve the work environment and efficiency by coordinating monthly 5S audits, managing company cell phones and company vehicles, making travel arrangements, and other office administration activities.
  • Assist Administration Department to maintain and improve security of Monroe GA Plant by key and badge control, visitor control, and security guard management.
  • Interpret in internal and external meetings to assist Japanese expatriates and Japanese employees from Hitachi group companies.
  • Interpret on the plant floor as needed.
  • Translate business documents such as technical documents, production reports, quality documents, audit documents, presentations, correspondences, speeches, etc.
  • Assist Japanese expatriates and their families upon initial arrival to the U.S. with translation and interpretation involving personal matters.
  • Support day to day functions of Administration Department.
  • Other projects to be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.  Some college or 2 to 3 years’ experience preferred.
  • Must be fluent in Japanese and English.  (speaking, reading, and writing in both)
  • Must be familiar with both Japanese and American culture.
  • Must have prior experience in translating/interpreting.
  • Experience in manufacturing company preferred. 
  • Strong computer skills as well as excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

No physical exertion required. Required to sit for long periods of time and moving around the facility. Coordination and handling files and documents.    Lifting limited to no more than 30 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Pleasant office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet. The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas were under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment.
