General Summary:

Hitachi Astemo is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Senior Cost Analyst.  This person will be a self-starter who takes the initiative to improve their own skills and the organization. 

Duties & Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Develop quotations for both existing & new business
  • Coordinate costing activities among multiple departments to meet Customer deadlines
  • Shared responsible with Sales Team for organizing Cost Evaluation (CE) and Offer Decision (OD) meetings based on GToA requirements
  • Responsible for profitability and/or cost studies of individual products (by BU) as requested
  • Responsible for preparation and maintenance of CEF data as needed/required for phase gate transition
  • Prepare & submit job activities report to direct management as requested
  • Contribute to Team effort to kaizen/streamline Cost Planning related processes.
  • Must support several high-level meetings that require off/evening hours on many occasions
  • Ability to lead meetings including reporting out of key data/metrics to upper-level management, up to and including CEO.

Qualifications & Pre-Requisites:

  • Experience working in product matters utilizing applications of one or more of the following: quoting, cost analysis, negotiation, accounting, sales, marketing, or procurement
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with particularly strong demonstrated capability with Excel
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work with extraordinary attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in and flourish in a primarily remote work environment

Note: Training will be provided in remote & in-person.

Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting related field is preferred, but not a pre-requisite.  Equivalent work experience will be considered.

Experience:  3-5 years’ experience in Accounting/Finance; Cost Accounting, or fields related to Product Manufacturing.

Job level determined by various factors such as organization size, responsibility, career stage, and capabilities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  None

Working conditions:

Physical Demands: Required to maintain a schedule that can greatly fluctuate in terms of work hours on a weekly basis. Overall expectation is of a workload that averages 40-50hrs/week, but at times may exceed.

Travel: Domestic and international travel may be required.
