Hitachi Rail STS is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Test and Commissioning Intern who thrives in a fast-paced environment.  The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of engineering related technical and administrative tasks.  The position is based in Pittsburgh, PA.

Mission: To learn and develop skills related to the process of Test and Commissioning a complex Communication Based Train Control (CBTC) project.

Accountabilities:

  • Provide administrative and operational support to one or more projects under the direction of the Commissioning Manager (s).
  • Support in the development, design and build of a system integration lab.
  • Support in the writing of test plans and procedures related to traditional signaling and/or communication based train control (CBTC) projects.
  • Assist in linking contract requirements to verification and validation (V&V) documentation in development of the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM).
  • Support with the review and completeness of field test datasheet results placed on the Project SharePoint.
  • Support in writing subsystem field test reports.
  • Support in the development of test matrixes for a large and complex project.
  • File and analyze daily field reports.
  • Collect and organize punch lists, inventory, work production plans for easy retrieval and documenting
  • Assist in recording the status and tracking of open items.
  • Assist with other duties and tasks as assigned.

Required Skills/ Knowledge:

  • Ability to perform the aforementioned accountabilities as dictated in section above.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite
  • Detail oriented, with excellent problem solving skills, meticulous, upbeat, adept at succeeding in rapidly changing environment
  • Strong communication skills with high degree of integrity in both written and verbal communications

Education:

  • Pursuit of an Engineering, Technology or Science related degree at Junior status

Languages:

  • English- Native Language
