Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Signalling Commissioning Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Pittsburgh, PA.

    Accountabilities

    • Ensure the definition, organization and execution of the test commissioning activities relevant to a CBTC project in alignment with the Commissioning strategy and the commissioning project activities schedule
    • Perform PICO testing
    • Ensure the definition and formulation of CBTC Tests procedures
    • Ensure that the delivered test and commissioning documents are available in the required format as per company guidelines and instructions
    • Ensure the on time issue of the tests reports of the performed tests
    • Support site surveys aimed to the definition of the CBTC design.
    • Work with WPL and report to them status of testing
    • Ensure the execution of the Verification activities on commissioning  documents
    • Ensure the execution of the static test according to test document
    • Ensure reporting to the Commissioning Manager of non-compliances and delays of commissioning activities
    • Ensure the reporting of non-compliances and delays of commissioning activities
    • Ensure reviewing of documents to issue the as-built documentation
    • Ensure the effective implementation of HSE plans on site during test commissioning phase.

    Required Skills:

    • Familiarity with testing tools, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and function generators.
    • Ability to perform testing independently
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Competent in Microsoft Office products
    • Experience in commissioning activities within the railway field
    • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams
    • Interact with the customer and commissioning manager to determine when and where support is needed.
    • Coordinate with the customer to assure that vehicles are ready for commissioning activities.
