Summary of the position:

The Sustainability Business Partner role serves as a key subject matter expert that collaborates with our entire value chain in understanding our current state within each function and helps incorporate our sustainability vision, strategy, and methodologies elements throughout the entire value chain to achieve our 2030 and 2050 goals. This role works leading different high level sustainability projects, including but not limited to carbon footprint reduction, circular economy, waste management and sustainable product innovation. They will also lead developing reporting needs, structure and serve as a communication liaison to our parent company.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Supports research, benchmark, and deployment of world-class sustainability methodologies to support the organization’s strategy
  • Works with functional leaders to establish and integrate sustainability best practices into product designs and product-related processes to achieve our 2030 and 2050 sustainability goals
  • Influences and drives a sustainability culture
  • Justifies and leads specific sustainability projects that leverage internal talent's expertise and skills, including identifying and pursuing innovation opportunities
  • Defines applicable sustainability metrics and associated supporting data collection methods to demonstrate company-wide progress towards achieving sustainability objectives
  • Works with our parent company to ensure compliance to reporting needs through data collection, reporting and data base development
  • Partners cross-functionally with the entire value chain to bring this work to life for our customers

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or Equivalent experience

Professional experience:

  • Experience in leading projects or programs of increasing complexity
  • Experience in remanufacturing preferred
  • Experience in ESG preferred
  • Fluency in the Japanese language preferred

Key behaviors:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Ability to work in a well-structured fashion with strong capability to functionally lead cross-functional teams
