Summary:

The Employee Services Specialist is responsible for supporting and monitoring leave, absenteeism, and exit program management. They support programs that provide employees extended time off for personal events by assisting employees and managers with eligibility determination, time off pay, and leave expiration administration. He/she will be managing the “Hire to Retire” entire Life Cycle Management of Hitachi America Ltd. Region.

Responsibilities:

We’re looking for a team player, who is motivated by delivering great work and the Hitachi vision.  Some of the skills and experience we look for includes:

  • Determines the type of leave the employee is eligible for based on policy and regulations.

  • Supports the employee’s leave request and processing.

  • Tracks the status and usage of the employees leave time, balances and return to work date.

  • Processes the return-to-work activities.

  • Ensures the effectiveness of the leave management program through consistent documentation and reporting of decisions and/or actions taken.

  • Uses appropriate and accurate records to monitor general and specific incidences of absence.

  • Identifies where high absence levels exist and which employee has reoccurring time off work.

  • Implements the absence control policy and procedures.

  • Coordinates between HR, department manager and payroll to begin the exit process to include employee separation package, final pay and review of benefits status.

  • Facilitates exit interviews and offboarding activities.

  • Coordinates separation process including communicating separation information to all relevant departments / entities.

  • Facilitates other termination activities and provide administrative support to separations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Workday knowledge and experience

  • 3-5 years of Human Resources experience

  • Payroll and onboarding knowledge

For California only (as required by California’s Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act (SB 1162): The expected salary for this position in our California office is $60,000-$65,000. Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi America’s variable pay program, subject to the program’s conditions and restrictions.
