POSITION SUMMARY:

Under moderate supervision of senior engineering team members and engineering manager, the Mechanical Engineer II, utilizes their degree and relative experience to provide engineering support to the company through engineering design, product development, product support and warranty support.  Assigned projects will require moderate review and approval of senior engineering team members and engineering manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Safety - conduct all activities in a safe manner, utilizing PPE and adhering to company policy and alerting others regarding potential concerns. Safety is # 1.
  • Provide Engineering support to all areas of the business, such as Production, Sales, Customer Service, Purchasing, Inventory, Marketing, etc.
  • Create and maintain bill of materials and manufacturing routings.
  • Create new and maintain existing part numbers.
  • Assist with reverse engineering projects.
  • Review and mark up new and existing engineering drawings.
  • Assist in the design and develop of new products.
  • Assist Quality Control by checking dimensions, surface finishes, hardness and analyzing material.
  • Assist in the design and develop production tooling.
  • Investigate warranties and failure analysis.
  • Other tasks as required.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering required.
  • 3-6 years of Mechanical Engineering experience.
  • Fluency in Inventor (or similar CAD software) and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Previous experience with ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principals.
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience operating CNC and manual mills and lathes.
  • Experience in welding and weld design.
  • FEA experience a plus.
