The Opportunity

Hitachi is actively seeking a quality-focused individual to join the team in the position of Modularisation Leading Hand for our new, state of the art Forrestdale site. Reporting to the Modularisation Supervisor and Co-ordinator you will be responsible for planning, organising and leading the Perth Modularisation operations to meet customer requirements, while working closely with the Modularisation leadership team to achieve department budgets and allotted KPI's. This role is offered on a 7/7 dayshift only, Perth based roster.

As a key member of the team you will also be responsible for:

  • Maintain work schedules to ensure efficient utilisation of equipment and resources
  • Be responsible for the day to day activities of workshop personnel and ensure labour is used most effectively
  • Liaise with stakeholders pertaining to machine performance, product, workmanship, and warranty
  • Ensure all output conforms to strict quality guidelines and processes
  • Ensure HCA employees and contractors comply with all WHS responsibilities and that a safety-first culture is a consistent behaviour within the department

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Relevant diesel or mobile plant mechanic trade qualifications
  • Leadership skills and the experience and ability to get the team to work cohesively
  • Demonstrated safety focus with a strong understanding of WHS principles
  • Experience in the maintenance of mining equipment (Hitachi exposure would be a distinct advantage)
  • Excellent time management with the ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities
  • The ability to use initiative to contribute and support continuous improvement, and drive change
  • Heavy Rigid drivers licence and High-Risk Work licences (forklift, dogging, working at heights, etc) would be highly regarded
