In our Semiconductor power module R&D team at Hitachi Energy Semiconductors, we are developing faultless high-tech semiconductor chips and power modules.

Our quality products are manufactured in advanced internal and external production sites and then delivered to a wide range of customers worldwide for different industrial applications as well as renewable energy, traction and E-mobility.

For extension and strengthening of our activities, we look for a motivated project manager based in Lenzburg, Switzerland to drive our product development activities in-house, at supplier side or other fabs.

In this role, you would work closely with the core team in Switzerland and foundries in Asia and worldwide suppliers.

This position will report directly to the group leader R&D Module Development and PMO.

  • Responsibilities:

  • Managing complex development projects in the power semiconductor area from planning, execution and qualification till final product release
  • Define work packages, set priorities, coordinate and actively control development activities to ensure timely delivery of the requirements in close collaboration with internal R&D, testing team, quality and production.
  • Keep the big picture, define project critical path, and pick barriers to ensure project target is met Continuous management of resources, suppliers, costs, quality and technical risks is part of your daily tasks
  • Ensure project integrity by sound stakeholder management
  • Regular status reports to the management and steering committees and effective use of escalation and communication channels Interface management between internal team and external foundries and partners is a key task
  • Support development of product specifications in cooperation with product management Ensure project formality and documentation is complete for clear product release following internal gate model
  • Promote newly developed products at conferences/fairs and develop new suppliers Travel on occasional basis

Your background:

  • Master's degree (or higher) in relevant engineering field (mechanical, material, physics, or electrical engineering)
  • At least 3 years of work experience in developing physical/industrial products (ideally in power electronics or similar area)
  • Experience as project management or scrum master PMP or similar certification is a plus
  • Hands-on project management tools (e.g. MS Project) Experience in risk assessment and quality methods e.g.
  • SixSigma is a plus Work experience in highly regulated environment e.g. automotive is a plus
  • Collaborative, solutions-oriented with strong written and spoken communication skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Negotiating skills and experience with international customers/suppliers/ foundries is a plus
  • High level of self-motivation, curiosity, and desire to learn about new technologies
  • Ability to network, get people onboard and resolve complex technical issues in a systematic way Fluent in English, German is a plus
