R&D Senior Engineer BESS

Description

As R&D Engineer you shall be working in the Research and Development department, which is responsible for the electrical design and integration of PowerStore product portfolio relevant to Grid Edge Solutions. The R&D team is located in the Grid Automation offices in Genova, Italy, in high motivated and international environment. Being part of a global R&D team, you shall interact with other HE entities worldwide in a highly collaborative environment. You shall drive the safety and standard compliancy processes (from components to system) for the PowerStore BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) product portfolio, interacting with Technology, Product Management and business functions. Your focus shall be to ensure the BESS safety standards compliancy of the HE portfolio working with external and internal partners-suppliers and certification bodies. You will lead and perform the FMEA, FTA, LOPA, Functional Safety analysis required by BESS safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• CE and UL certification process management for the BESS equipment: PCS, Battery system & Control system.

• BESS IEC & UL safety standards compliance responsible.

• Interactions with internal and external suppliers for the safety related topics.

• Leads the interaction external certification bodies during the product and system certification processes

• Participates in BESS safety forums & workshops Create internal training material and teach the organization on BESS safety standards

Your background:

• Master's degree in electrical / electronic engineering.

• A PhD in one of the technology areas relevant to electrical design is very welcome.

• Deep knowledge of global safety standards (CE, IEC, UL, IEEE, AU, GOST, etc.) for BESS systems and equipment.

• Experience in UL9540 & IEC 62933 BESS system certification standards Experience in FMEA, FTA, LOPA, Functional Safety analysis

• Project and team management skills

• Excellent communication in English is essential in our global organization Experienced in product development process.

• Solid presentation skills and fluency in English, both written and spoken.

• High awareness for quality, process and tool in related area.

• Self-motivated, independent, organized and structured way of working.

• Able to lead a multidisciplinary project team.

• Availability to travel globally.
