What you’ll be doing
The European Payroll Delivery Manager will report to the Global Payroll Administration Manager, based in Bangalore, and is responsible for providing region-specific payroll operations support. The role will have direct people management responsibility for three dedicated payroll team members, based across the Regional and Global Hub locations in Krakow and Bangalore. Core responsibilities include collecting key data inputs from various teams and countries (e.g. Group Company Payroll Customers, Benefits, Compensation, Mobility) to support the administration of the disbursement of pay.
The European Payroll Delivery Manager is the face of payroll to Hitachi employees, working with third party payroll suppliers, Total Rewards COE, and BU HR to answer and resolve queries. The role ensures that Hitachi employees get paid accurately and on time, and that Hitachi is disbursing pay in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
This role will be a mixture of remote working and based from Hitachi’s EU Offices in Krakow.
What you bring to the team
We’re looking for a team player, who is motivated by delivering great work and the Hitachi vision. Some of the skills and experience we look for includes:
Supervisory people management experience
Ownership of relationships, and ongoing engagement, with Group Company Payroll Customers
Ensures Payroll Service Level Agreements are met with internal customers
Monitor metrics / KPIs, gather customer feedback, and determine areas for improvement
Coordination of payroll input data to create, update, and maintain employee assignment and pay details
Management of payroll schedule to ensure regular and off-cycle payroll processes are accurately delivered through Payroll administration hub-locations, and are fully compliant with local country legislative and regulatory requirements to include sign-off responsibilities
Analyzes all off-cycle payroll requests and validates payroll inquiry/requests
Processes payroll accounting and post payroll activities / reconciliation
Partners with third party payroll supplier as applicable
Partners with the Total Rewards COE and other stakeholders to support audit and year-end activities including preparation of interfaces and reports
Provides support for Legal and regulatory reporting
Acts as a point of escalation for payroll inquiries, redirecting complex or unusual inquiries to Payroll Administration Manager, BU HR, and/or Total Rewards COE
Work in partnership with Global GBS team members, representing the European region, to focus on future global payroll transformation project-based initiatives
Preferred Qualification
Excellent knowledge of UK payroll processing, yearend activities, and legislation
Would be an added advantage of having knowledge of Poland and any EU countries and working knowledge with ADP.
