Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Process Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Genova.

Accountabilities

With reference to the assigned GBMS topics/processes/documents, the Process Engineer performs the following activities ensuring the implementation and maintenance of an adequate and effective/efficient GBMS aligned to Company business plans, strategy, objectives and targets:

  • Ensure the definition of GBMS framework, identifying global processes architecture, IT supporting tool and overall set of rules and guidance to implement and maintain the system, collaborating with the appointed process owners/experts and/or Functional Managers. In doing so, the Process Engineer also ensures proposals aimed to the improvement/re-definition of rules/guidelines within the GBMS;
  • Ensure the coordination and enhance motivation of all the involved parties (process owners, process experts, top management, etc.) in order to develop, use and constantly improve the GBMS;
  • Ensure the establishment, design, monitoring, maintenance and continuous improvement of GBMS documentation, including definition of proper KPIs, by adopting a standard methodological approach coordinating all key components: Company’s policies, Process Owners’ strategy, practices and employees’ feedback;
  • Ensure control of typing, content and consistency of documents taking care that conflicts and issues inside GBMS documentation are managed and escalated properly at functional level. This mainly means supporting the process owners/experts and/or Functional Managers in resolving such kind of conflicts/inconsistencies between process documents, through the correct establishment of the interfaces and definition of inputs/outputs, activities and relevant responsibilities;
  • Ensure communication through announcements, informative, and specific training initiatives concerning the GBMS, as well as the GBMS documentation delivery/update;
  • Ensure the coordination of Process Review meetings, supporting the Process Owners/Experts in identifying process improvement actions pursuing objectives of effectiveness and efficiency.

Required Skills/Knowledge

  • From 3 up to 5 years of working experience
  • Basic Knowledge of Process Improvement/Management Systems building techniques
  • Basic knowledge of Tools for process architecture
  • Basic knowledge of Project Management techniques/methods
  • MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, Publisher, Visio and SharePoint knowledge
  • Experience in organizing and leading meetings with different departments with a proactive approach involving all level of personnel
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Commitment to working as part of a team within the department
  • Collaborative working with other support functions

Desirable Skills/Knowledge

  • Experience in Business Management System implementation/development within different Organisations and in harmonizing regional BMSs and processes taking care of the cross-cultural aspects of so doing
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment within a Quality Assurance team
  • Applicable Standards Knowledge (ISO, CENELEC, IRIS,…)

Education/Qualifications

Univ. Degree (Engineering, Economics, other technical degree).

 

Languages
 

Fluent Knowledge of English (written & spoken).
