Description

The Heavy Lift Transport Coordinator is managing day to day Heavy Lift transport activities in close collaboration with the rest of the factory functions and fully aligned with directives and guidelines coming from the organization. The position will be responsible for all activities related to Heavy Lift transports, from the offers to the final deliveries, with leadership, support, and guidance from European HUB Transport & Logistics Manager.

Your responsibilities - Planning and Execution of Transport operation

  • Secure safe operation and ensure HSE regulations for heavy lift transportation using only qualified Suppliers as per strategy from the Global Category Team;

  • Maintain communication with transport service providers to place transport orders, monitor important milestones, and make sure to respect the process in place to achieve the agreed targets.

  • Tracking the shipments/transport from the dispatch until delivery and Communication to all internal and external parties involved.

  • Act as first level escalation for supplier issue resolution/hot topics including claims management.

  • Represent Heavy Lift Transport function in project kick-off and subsequent meetings.

  • When necessary, travel to the job site or loading site to supervise loading/unloading activities and/or Road Surveys with suppliers.

  • Participate in the tendering process, be involved in all budgetary offers done at the factory level, RFQ process, analysis, negotiation with the suppliers at quotation phase, Owner of transportation cost set for the budget.

  • Transport Contracts – Adapt corporate contractual framework to the local business needs in the cases defined; Ensure that contract creation, execution and analysis are carried out for maximizing operational and financial performance and minimizing risk.

  • Coordinate completion of required documentation from suppliers and factory.

  • Forecasting of Spend and Savings for Heavy Lift operations: Planning, budget and forecasted cost for execution to be delivery in monthly base to TTL Hub Manager.

  • Propose and support implementation of cost savings initiatives and risk mitigation projects.

  • The position requires constant communication with the Project Management, Marketing and Sales, Engineering and Operations inside the factory on one side, and the regional organization on the other side.

  • Work closely with other factory function to generate projects and bring value on quality, cash, lead time, material availability and costs.

  • Support factory General Cargo transports when needed.

  • Responsible for reviewing, tracking and delivery the savings (cost out);

  • Coordinate and Provide Information to TTL Hub Manager to bundle projects and volume to leverage on buying power and therewith reduce cost.

  • Analysis of main cost slippages in the transport projects to implement lessons learnt for the future projects.

  • Transport Project Risk Control: Provide input to risk review and forwarder proposal review; Contact with Transport Engineering Team and Insurance Company.
     

Your background

  • Bachelor’s’ degree in engineering, supply chain management, and/or logistics management from an accredited university/college.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of project logistics, project management, or heavy lift transportation.

  • Capable of managing and prioritizing multiple time-sensitive tasks in a dynamic environment.

  • Familiarity with transport cost structures, documents and terms and conditions within the transport industry (such as Incoterms, surcharges, weight /volume conversion factors, BLs, customs process, etc.)

  • Strong negotiation skills.

  • Fluent in English;

  • Advanced desktop computer skills including Microsoft Excel, MS Project and Outlook required.

  • Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues from other functions, colleagues in the same function in other plants planners as well as supplier´s personnel.

  • Ability to work against deadlines under pressure, prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner with a sense of urgency.
